I live in Deadwood, SD and going up to the Arctic Ocean at Tuktoyaktuk, Canada in 6 days. I work and taking 3 weeks of vacation. I'm having a hard time to just take the 3 weeks or say F-it and take whatever time I want. 3 weeks or 3 months? I'm 54 years old and life's end is getting near. House is paid off, zero debt and a lot of money in the bank. I guess I'll wait and see how I feel while on the road.

There are different type of riders: Those who drives and those who enjoy the trip. That's is me. I visit all the attractions I can find on my way. What takes other 9 hours to reach it takes me 2-3 days yes that's me.

Once the code is showing, how do you exit out of it without clearing the code ? Eg it may be a code you don’t want to clear because you want the dealer to see it first .

I just subscribed to your channel and have enjoyed your other video, "I can never go back". Unfortunately, I think you are doing your audience a certain in justice on this video, let me explain. I have been working part-time for a small local dealership located in the Northeast. I also have done most if not all of my own service on my Harley Davidsons for the past 30 years, minus tires. Let me tell you what I have learned working at the dealership. First what a customer pays for is the training, knowledge, and experience that a certified Harley tech has. Now that sounds impressive in itself, but let me tell you my observations, even standard 5,000-mile services are not standard. Each tech is going over 24 different checks and adjustments on the motorcycle to bring it back to the condition it left the showroom. Now yes you can probably buy the service manual which is a cost of $200.00 and look up and possible perform those checks and adjustments but will you have the experience to know what a problem looks like or a future problem. I have personally seen these techs recognize dangerous issues due to their experience and repair it at little or no cost to the customer, in many circumstances. That being said there are repairs discovered during a service that are extended labor hours and can become costly. Second in your video you recommended purchasing of a proper motorcycle lift, this is a cost of at least $1800.00 for a cheap one. The lifts that are used in the dealership go for around $3000.00 and are rated for the weight of larger bikes such as your Roadglide. Third Harley recommends that the dot 4 brake fluid is flushed out of the system and replaced every other year, on bikes with ABS this cannot be performed correctly without the use of the computer program that is Harley based. When a customer tries to do this on their own every single time they have to come in and we have to redo this job because they will lose their brake lever. Our cost is only $150.00 for that service. A real bargain when you compare it to the cost at BMW which is almost $300.00. Fourth is something that all Harley owners should know, all Harleys that are more than 8 years old are considered obsolete by the manufacturer. What does that mean? It means that right now your 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle, Harley has stopped making parts for. So, whatever is out there is out there and when those parts are gone that's it. Yes, you can sometimes find parts that are aftermarket or used, but it is not easy. Now all this being said, doing a three-hole oil change at the beginning of each season after the bike has been sitting is a good way for customers to save money, but to buy all the proper equipment such as lifts, and proper tools may negate that cost. Clutch adjustments are very important on these bikes and yes, grandmaster UA-cam can show you how to do that, but can it give you the experience that a trained tech who also furthers his or her education every winter has in order to put it into proper spec that is advised by the motor company. In closing I think it would be fair to recommend you put a video together at a dealership showing customers what is actually done during one of these services, especially when at every 10,000 mile service the tank has to be pulled on the M8's in order to change the spark plugs. How do I remove the battery to charge it ?

I’ll be putting mine to the test starting tomorrow. 5000ish miles over 12 days strapped to an AdvanBlack tourpack on my 18 Softail. Your issue with the clips, I always loosen the strap then connect the clip. Finally cinch the strap back up

Any motorcyclist who spends any time away from home, whether it's a day or a week or a month, will collect stories. Stories about the weather. About nearly running out of gas. About the wildlife. The good motels. The sketchy motels. The winding roads. The good food. The bad food. Getting buzzed by an F/A-18 Hornet. The unique experiences that would never happen if they weren't out on their motorcycle. I rode from Everett to Bellingham Washington to see my mother. I typically take I-5 north to get to Bellingham, and take Chuckanut Drive south to go home. My mother warned me that there had been a slide on Chuckanut and it might be closed. I decided to chance it. I rode past the sign that said, "Road closed 11 miles ahead." I rode past the sign that said, "Road closed ahead." I rode past the sign that said, "Road closed at mile marker 15". I rode around the northern barrier, past the couple doing the nude photoshoot on the highway, through the helmet sized rocks on the road, and around the southern barrier. If I hadn't been on a motorcycle, I wouldn't have gotten to see that slide.

I live in Western Washington. My motorcycle is my transportation, so I ride nearly every day, year round, in all weather. So I've learned some things about rain gear. Most motorcycle rain gear just slows the water. Frogg Toggs are waterproof. Get rain pants that zip to the hip. You can put them on over boots while standing next to a motorcycle. Despite what they claim, rain pants that only zip to the knee often require you to remove your boots.

I have done 3 iron butts from my house to my brothers place....It is not easy....Leave early, Gas and Go and one good break... Southern CO to Gillette WY, then I-90 to Luverne MN back to a small town in Eastern SD...Its just fun...but I always take the 760 mile route back to Southern CO!

Had to save this one for a to do. Glacier was the last big trip me and a buddy did before he passed away. I promised him I’d keep exploring for him. One of the reasons I bought my Harley ❤.

Keep in mind that the rack on your tour pack is held on by 4 screws. I like the design, but would worry about those screws breaking through the plastic tour pack lid.

New to all this; why is neutral in between two gears? I always thought neutral would've been all the way down to the last down click.

This video would have been a lot more helpful if it showed more of the actual work and less of the guy just riding around.

Try moving your mirrors from the top of the bars to the bottom of the bars. You will find you will not have your shoulders in the way any more and a clear vision behind you.

Idk if it’s because I have big feet (13 US), but it’s easier for me to go from 2nd to neutral by just giving a little pressure… If I try to push inward then I’ll touch the kickstand and the bike turns off

Shark Road slip on’s do not purchase them! This is just my opinion, for about the first thousand miles. It was everything I was looking for that deep Grauel. Right around 1000 miles that one away and they became a percussion instrument very high sound the deep growl was gone. Now I’m looking into Vance and Hines 4 1/2 inch slip on’s or the cobra neighbor haters 4 1/2 inch I haven’t decided yet.
